Our programmes combine the British National Curriculum and Cambridge International framework, tailored for an international environment.

Play-Based Learning
Central to our practical and inquiry-based curriculum. Through play, children develop academic, personal, and international skills in a fun, engaging way.

Cambridge Curriculum
Our 'Little Stars' and 'Busy Bees' classes follow the Cambridge Curriculum, providing foundation skills, knowledge, and understanding for transition into primary school.

Language & Numeracy
Early Years learners receive strong foundations in English and Numeracy skills, with all learning based on the English National Curriculum adapted for an international setting.

Communication Skills
Encourages communication through talking, listening, reading, and writing development. Supports language acquisition from early speaking skills through to reading and writing.

Cross-Curricular Approach
English learning links lessons with stories and other curriculum subjects, exploring fiction, non-fiction, and poetry across a wide range of genres.

Phonics Programme
A systematic and progressive phonics programme from Early Years. Children learn letter sounds and how sounds can be represented in different ways to blend into words.

Guided & Shared Reading
Teachers plan regular sessions to develop reading skills. Guided Reading develops comprehension through small-group discussion; Shared Reading offers whole-class text exploration.

Reading is Celebrated
Books play an important role in school life, celebrated through activities such as Book Week. Each child follows an independent reading programme suited to their ability.

Writing Across Genres
Pupils explore fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, learning to write confidently for different audiences. Grammar instruction helps pupils understand language structure.

Years 3–6 Analysis
In upper primary, pupils explore literary and non-literary texts and analyse the use of language. Speaking, listening, reading, and writing are integrated throughout learning units.

UK Primary Framework
Bright Blend follows the UK Primary Framework for Mathematics, taught as a core subject from Years 1 to 6, focused on seven key curriculum strands.

Real-Life Contexts
Learning is linked to real-life situations and integrated with other curriculum areas. Technology such as Chromebooks, iPads, and Smart Boards supports mathematics learning.

Milepost One (Yrs 1–2)
Focus on confidence with counting, place value, and mental fluency. By Year 2, pupils know number bonds to 20, place value, and recall the 2, 5, and 10 times tables.

Milepost Two (Yrs 3–4)
Pupils develop confidence with the number system and all four operations, with growing focus on fractions, decimals, percentages, and more complex problem solving.

Milepost Three (Yrs 5–6)
Greater complexity with ratio, algebra, and multi-step problems. Geometry, measurement, and data handling skills extended with reasoned mathematical language.

Mathematical Vocabulary
Correct use, spelling, and pronunciation of mathematical vocabulary are emphasised. Pupils explain and present reasoning using diagrams and charts.

How We Measure Progress

Assessment at Bright Blend ensures all parties — children, teachers, and parents — know what learning is expected and that structures are in place to measure how each child is progressing.
